How to configure the live chat widget when the agents are offline?
Give your website visitors and customers alternate ways to contact you even when your support agents are not available. REVE Chat allows you to configure your chat widget automatically when agents are offline or away mode.
Here are the steps to follow to configure the pre-chat offline form:
Go to the Customization option on your dashboard
Click the Pre-chat form option
Choose ‘When the agent is offline option’
When you click on offline you get two options. They are:
Collect Message – When you choose this option, you can enable a form to collect details of the visitors. You can also leave a customized message about your availability or the alternate contact options.
Notify Only – On choosing this option, you can only notify your visitors and customers about your availability through a customized message. You will not be able to collect details about them.
You need to save and refresh the page to apply the option for your offline message.
Note: Hiding the chat widget during offline hours is like closing doors to your customers who land your website when you are not available to assist them. Instead, you can provide alternate contact options or knowledgebase.
When you configure the offline message, your website visitors or customers will see the offline pre-chat form asking for some details.
When the agents are online and see the message, they will revert back with the desired action.
